SWL – (SAFE WORKING LOAD) – MAXIMUM TRANSPORT WEIGHT OF THE BAG
Big Bags are generally used only once. Collecting the FIBC later or asking the customer to return the empty bag is often uneconomical. It is an obligation to use This type of bags in the food industry where reuse is unhygienic. Sometimes FIBCs are never emptied and act as a permanent waste bag. The factor of safety (SF) for this type of FIBC is 5:1. This means that the bag exploded after reaching five times the safety workload (SWL) in the test environment, therefore, a 1000 kg bag should burst at a load of more than 5 tons. These bags cannot be repaired and they are not allowed to be reused.
SF – (SAFETY FACTOR) – SINGLE/MULTI-USE BAGS
SINGLE-USE BAGS
MULTI-USE BAGS
Sometimes using the bag multiple times is more economical than a single use. This is usually valid where all bags are emptied in the same place and can be easily collected. Also, there shouldn’t be contact with food. In this case, the bags can be reused for a limited number of times. These bags are produced stronger, and a factor of safety (SF) of 6:1 applies, meaning the bag exploded after a load of more than six times the safety workload (SWL) during testing. In multi-use, an additional label can be added to count the number of cycles. Of course, these bags cannot be used endlessly. However, there is no rule about how much should be used. These bags are also not repairable. Damaged bags should not be reused. Only the same type of material is allowed for each use.
SWL AND SF CERTIFICATE
All of our products are first tested in-house and then approved by accredited testing institutes. Certificates specify the security workload and security factor. Upon request, a certificate application is made for your bags.
LABELING
Each bag has a label that clearly states the SWL and SF of the bag. Reusable bags sometimes have an additional trip label to count the number of uses, depending on demand.
UN BAG
Bags for hazardous materials have a SWL and a maximum stacking load but no SF. It is for one-time use only.
